Meet Korbin Black

Korbin Black is a food scientist and quality executive with 14+ years leading quality assurance, food safety, and regulatory affairs across food, beverage, and dietary supplement manufacturing.

He has built GFSI-certified quality systems from the ground up, led enterprise quality-system integrations through mergers and acquisitions, stood up in-house analytical testing laboratories, and directed regulatory compliance under 21 CFR Parts 111, 113, 114, 117, and 121, along with USDA-inspected meat and ready-to-eat production. His regulatory work has also included day-to-day coordination with on-site USDA inspectors and hands-on responsibility for label filings and approvals across USDA/FSIS, TTB, and FDA, from meat labeling and TTB Certificate of Label Approval (COLA) filings to dietary supplement and conventional food labels.

He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Food Science from Oklahoma State University.

His background spans the full food safety and quality function, from research and development and product specifications through quality supervision, systems leadership, and executive oversight, giving him a practical, floor-level view of how a food safety program actually runs as well as how it needs to look on paper for an auditor, whether that auditor is with a certification body, the FDA, or USDA/FSIS.

He is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and travels to client facilities anywhere in the United States and internationally, with travel expenses covered by the client. He has worked on-site at manufacturing plants in Canada, is within easy reach of Mexico, and also supports clients remotely, from short audit-prep sprints to longer engagements that rebuild a quality system from the ground up. He founded Kompliance Food Safety Consulting to give manufacturers across both FDA- and USDA-regulated categories direct access to that same level of quality and regulatory leadership without the overhead of a full-time executive hire.
